ventral part of the anterior cingulate area ( 2 )

The term ventral part of the anterior cingulate area refers to a cortical area defined by cytoarchitecture in the mouse and rat. It is located on the medial surface of the cerebral hemisphere together with the dorsal part of the anterior cingulate area ( Paxinos-2001 ). Together they constitute the anterior cingulate area ( Swanson-1998 ).
