genu of the corpus callosum ( ccg )

The term genu of the corpus callosum (ccg) refers to the rostral most portion of the corpus callosum (cc) in the human ( Carpenter-1983 ), macaque ( Martin-2000 ), rat ( Swanson-2004 ) and mouse ( Franklin-2008 ). It is bounded caudally by the body of the corpus callosum (ccb), and, in all but the mouse, ventrocaudally by the rostrum of the corpus callosum (ccr). It is Region 2 of seven parts defined in a common parcellation scheme for the corpus callosum. See corpus callosum (Witelson). Updated 21 Aug 2024.
