medial septal complex ( SPXm )
The term medial septal complex (SPxm) refers to a composite substructure of the cerebral nuclei (CRN) in the rat that includes the medial septal nucleus and the nucleus of the diagonal band ( Swanson-2004 ). It is a component of the pallidum in the functional model of the central nervous system.
