area 20 of Brodmann (human) ( 20 )

The term area 20 of Brodmann (human) refers to a subdivision of the cytoarchitecturally defined temporal region of cerebral cortex. In the human it corresponds approximately to the inferior temporal gyrus. Cytoarchitecturally it is bounded medially by the area 36 of Brodmann (human), laterally by the area 21 of Brodmann (human), rostrally by the area 38 of Brodmann (human) and caudally by the area 37 of Brodmann (human) ( Brodmann-1909 ).
