outer band of Baillarger

The term outer band of Baillarger is a myeloarchitectural term denoting a dense horizontal plexus of myelinated fibers coursing in the internal granular layer (layer IV) of cerebral cortex ( Crosby-1962, Carpenter-1983 ).
