precentral operculum

The term precentral operculum refers to the ventrolateral lip of the precentral gyrus (PCG), which is one of two parts of the subcentral operculum (OPRsc) in the human ( Roberts 1970 ) and the macaque ( NeuroNames ). It is not present in the smooth cerebral cortex of the rat or mouse (NeuroNames ). Updated 24 Aug 2004.
