apical subnucleus of the interpeduncular nucleus
The term apical subnucleus of the interpeduncular nucleus refers to one of three subnuclei of the interpeduncular nucleus in the human ( Paxinos-2012 ). It is one of five to seven subnuclei in the rat ( Swanson-2004 ) and the mouse ( Franklin-2008 ). It is not identified in the macaque ( Paxinos-2009a ).
