medial magnocellular part of the paraventricular nucleus
The term medial magnocellular part of the paraventricular nucleus refers to one of three parts of the paraventricular nucleus of the hypothalamus as identified by multiple criteria in the rat. The others are the anterior magnocellular part of the paraventricular nucleus and the posterior magnocellular part of the paraventricular nucleus. Functionally they belong to the magnocellular neuroendocrine cell groups of the subcortical motor system ( Swanson-2004 ).
