medial zone of the posterior magnocellular part of the paraventricular nucleus
The term medial zone of the posterior magnocellular part of the paraventricular nucleus refers to one of two components of the posterior magnocellular part of the paraventricular nucleus in the hypothalamus as identified by multiple criteria in the rat. The other is the lateral zone of the posterior magnocellular part of the paraventricular nucleus. Functionally they belong to the magnocellular neuroendocrine cell groups of the subcortical motor system ( Swanson-2004 ).
