area 46D ( 46D )
The term area 46D refers to one of two components of area 46 in the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex of the macaque. Defined on the basis of stain for neurofilament protein, it is the part of area 46 located dorsal to the principal sulcus. The other component is area 46V ( Petrides-2009 ).
