lateral tuberal nuclei ( LTu )
The term lateral tuberal nuclei refers to several clusters of small somatostatin-staining neurons embedded at the base of the lateral hypothalamic area at the level of the intermediate hypothalamic region in the human ( Saper-2012 ) and the macaque ( Martin-2000 ). They are different from the lateral tuberal nucleus ( Carpenter-1983; Saper-2012 ).
