area LO2 ( LO2 )
The term area LO2 refers to a cortical structure located on the lateral surface of the cerebral hemisphere at the junction of the occipital lobe and temporal lobe, between early visual cortex and the MT+ complex of the human. Defined by multiple criteria, it is a part of MT+ neighbors. Compared to adjacent areas, it is fMRI activated in a FACES-SHAPES contrast and a RELATIONAL task. It is less activated in a BODY task. Other authors have referred to the same topological area as LO1 or hOC4la ( Glasser-2016 ).
