anterior ascending limb of the lateral fissure ( ltfaa )
The term anterior ascending limb of the lateral fissure (ltfaa) refers to a superficial feature of the frontal lobe (FLB) of the human. It is a branch from the lateral fissure (ltf) that separates the triangular part of the inferior frontal gyrus (IFGtr) from the opercular part of the inferior frontal gyrus (IFGop) ( Ono-1990 ). Iidentified by dissection, branches from the ltf are not found in the macaque nor in the smooth cerebral cortex (CTX) of the rat or mouse ( NeuroNames ). Updated 30 Aug 2024.
