anteroventral preoptic nucleus
The term anteroventral preoptic nucleus refers to a group of cells in the preoptic area of the rat ( Swanson-1998 ) and the mouse ( Hof-2000 ). Functionally it belongs to the hypothalamic periventricular region of the subcortical motor system ( Swanson-2004 ).
