compact part of the dorsomedial hypothalamic nucleus
The term compact part of the dorsomedial hypothalamic nucleus refers to a part of the dorsomedial nucleus of the hypothalamus in the macaque ( Paxinos-2009a ), the rat ( Paxinos-2009b ), and the mouse ( Franklin-2008 ). It is the only subpart of the nucleus in the macaque. The rodents, however, have in addition a dorsal part of the dorsomedial hypothalamic nucleus and a ventral part of the dorsomedial hypothalamic nucleus ( Paxinos-2009b; Franklin-2008 ).
