horizontal plane
The term horizontal plane refers to a cross-sectional view of the brain commonly presented in illustrations of its internal structure. Roughly speaking, the term refers to a horizontal plane that extends from the front to the back of the brain. For a more precise definition of its use in BrainInfo see " plane of section ".
