preganglionic autonomic pools
The term preganglionic autonomic pools refers to clusters of neurons in the cerebrospinal trunk grouped on the basis of function. Belonging to motoneuron groups of the subcortical motor system, they are of two types: sympathetic preganglionic pools and parasympathetic preganglionic pools ( Swanson-2004 ).
