thoracolumbar autonomic nuclei
The term thoracolumbar autonomic nuclei refers to a column of neurons in the spinal central gray located along the lateral gray column in the first thoracic (T1) through the third lumbar (L3) segments of the spinal cord ( Carpenter-1983 ). Functionally they belong to the sympathetic preganglionic pools of the subcortical motor system ( Swanson-2004 ).
