subarachnoid space
The term subarachnoid space refers to one of the supporting structures of the central nervous system. Traversed by thin fibrillar arachnoid trabeculae, it is the space filled with cerebrospinal fluid between the outer arachnoid and inner pia mater membranes ( Swanson-2015 ).
