thoracic segments ( SPCth )

The term thoracic segments (SPCth) refers to  the 9th to 20th segments in the middle of the spinal cord (SPC). Located between the cervical segments (SPCcv) and the lumbar segments (SPClb) they are labeled T1 to T12 ( Carpenter-1983 ). They are defined by histology and are found in all vertebrates ( Swanson-2015 ). Final 24 Dec 2024 ).
